Making Products Work for People
I have been defining software and hardware interfaces between humans and technology for over 20 years. It is my professional passion and excites me every day. It is a fertile, ever-changing landscape of work, because as new innovations arise in computing and materials, customer expectations keep rising at the same time.
I specialize in identifying opportunities for innovation with design research, and then applying interaction design as a distinguishing feature for competitive advantage. However, I can also help companies simply modernize their offerings, if that is all the business requires.
Although customer-centered solutions don't always fall into just one category or technology, here are four general areas where I can lead the design and innovation process.
- Design for the Web.
This category includes information architecture, content management system migration and component optimization, as well as iteratively prototyping and specifying online tools. - Design for Applications.
This includes SaaS web apps, thin-client/thick-client installed solutions, and enterprise software. - Design for Mobile Products.
This includes work on mobile web, as well as apps for iPhone and Android. - Design for Embedded Systems.
This category includes handheld and desktop instrumentation, as well as networked sensing and monitoring systems.
