Moody’s Analytics builds financial analysis tools for banks and other companies. My focus is on helping people forecast assets and liabilities, so they can make better decisions about how to use their capital and comply with necessary reporting guidelines. I direct a team that designs new functionality while migrating products to HTML5. I have successfully created and executed processes for UX library component design, integration of UX within lean development, and design research. I reduced low-value activities, created a new persona, led hiring and performance management for my team, and drove the effort to create the company’s first demonstrated iPad product.
Salesforce is the world leader in cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) software. Their fast-paced growth and focus on innovation have taught me important lessons for leadership. I helped guide the Data.com product family through a time of many transitions of people, strategies, and technology. It has been extremely rewarding and challenging to work with Salesforce, and I admire their commitment to empowering people to be successful even as they share the fruits of their own success through the Salesforce Foundation.

I was fortunate to be able to build and manage a great team of interaction designers and usability specialists at Blue Shield. Using Agile and other lean methods, we worked with content strategists and visual designers to define a new vision for the website, using a broad range of page and component templates. We defined a completely new design system for the website, which established much more consistency in the navigation, workflow and overall appearance.

At Autodesk, I worked on installed and SaaS applications related to computer-aided design and building information management libraries. As part of a team exploring new 3D imaging technologies, I designed workflows and page layouts for Autodesk Homestyler, as well as for partnerships with Dacor and Caesarstone. I also defined the user experience for single sign-on procedures for Homestyler, and defined an updated "ribbon" style interface for Autodesk Design Review, using analytics to optimize the presentation and layout.
At McKesson, I did a deep dive research project to find out how we could restructure order entry and charting in the emergency room to revolve around people and processes, instead of around technology. We increased the representation of the caregiver in the layout as well, to address the surprisingly common problem of people entering data under the wrong name.

At Hach, I designed software and hardware user interfaces for a variety of handheld, laboratory and process control instrumentation for water analysis. To test embedded system user interface designs, I created complex interactive prototypes long before money was spent on tooling and parts.
